Going HTTPS: How do I get an SSL Certificate?

What is HTTPS?

If you’re asked to log in or hand over your credit card details to a website that doesn’t have https: at the front of its URL, don’t. What that little s means is secure. Without that, everything sent between your computer and that website is unencrypted – plain text for all the world to see.
If you have a website, or an online store on which you want people to be able to safely purchase products or submit confidential information, it’s imperative that you have an SSL Certificate – that your website runs as “HTTPS”. This isn’t the only step involved in securing your website, but it is one of the first.

How do I get it?

We use a platform called “Let’s Encrypt”. This platform is free, so every site we build comes with a free SSL Certificate. However, it’s a little more complicated than clicking the ‘go’ button and being on your way. Combining a mix of industry leading technologies, our team can make sure everything is safe and secure – ensuring your site is safe, your customers are safe, and all the information stored or submitted to your site is locked up securely.
Our team ensures our clients’ websites keep working correctly. If you need to keep your site online and snug as a bug in a rug, contact our team today.
